Music is an outstanding gift of God and next to theology ... I would not give up my slight knowledge of music for a great consideration ... and youth should be taught this art ... for it makes fine skillful people ... I would... more

Grr! It snowed again! I’m going with my buddy Bob today so supper is a quick one…Spaghetti and meatballs with fresh Italian bread. On a weird note I had a dream last night…I rarely dream or at least remember them.
In this one I was over to Tom Cruise’s house. He threw a saxophone away and I got it out of his trash. In the meantime my Betty was busy helping Katy Holmes, his wife, clean their house, what a mess it was with boxes everywhere.
I helped Betty straighten some books so I could find Tom’s instruction manual for learning how to play the saxophone. He had a number of self-help books; all with hand drawn pictures of him in them. The book on carpentry was the oddest with him demonstrating in the pictures how to use a handsaw to cut off fingers on his hand.
While I was looking for the manual the saxophone got stolen from me by peoples unknown…God only knows what this dream meant in my subconscious…but I thought I’d share it. Have a lovely day…

Awk…awk it snowed…I had to shovel. Grr! So my day is off to a bad start. Anyway, I’m making Salisbury steaks with garlic mashed potatoes and sliced carrots for supper. I’m also posting a short story I just wrote twice…I do hope you enjoy it, and I’d value your opinion of it. And I hope your day is less snowy than mine, and much more enjoyable. |

Rani, thanks for all of the visits and comments on my page. I see you are Mennonite stock, I have a bit of the PA Dutch in me also. And your blogs on your kin are enjoyable, not just dry genealogy, but real stuff. I also love history and especially local history. Right now, I am re-reading some Thoreau, the first time since my early 20's and am on Civil Disobedience. You mentioned the Medical Facilities Building Boom. Funny thing, as I have traveled the world, everyplace that had such a boom forced wages down in a lot of places and also forced out Blue Collar Jobs. UPMC here in my area has most of it wrapped up, just announced a layoff and the next day proposed a new hospital about 1 mile from one they could not buy. There is a real war here between UPMC and Allegheny General. Well, thanks again, I have a lot on my mind right now and don't get back as often as I should, but I visit. |

Halleluiah, I got a new pillow and slept a lot better. So I’m caught up on my z’s. It’s Donald’s favorite meal day again…being a super fussy eater…I do this menu more often than others, to get him to eat something.
So it’s Deep-fried chicken and French fries with mixed veggies today. His mother, my oldest, was a chicken hawk growing up and passed it on to him. Although I could make just French fries and have him just as happy…but of all the things I cook, fries is my least favorite to make; because it tires me out standing at the deep fryer for so long after my stoke. I’ve tried a sitting on a stool…it doesn’t help, as I have to lean over to far…oh, well.
Anyway, I want to wish you a great day and a wonderful weekend.

you got that right....if I was in bed and there came up a storm I knew there'd be a mess in the morning for me to clean up...oh yeah, it was my wife's dog...I walked her...I let her out to do her business...I fed and watered her...I took her to the vet...I bought the license, toys, food...but she was my wife's dog...yeah right! I do miss the little queen of the kitchen...my wife's dog Buffy |
 |
I plan my meals for the week on Sunday when I shop...it was just a coincidence we both did scalloped taters this week...my blonde cocker spaniel Buffy long dead now hated the rain and was terrified of thunder she'd leave poop samples on the floor in the kitchen every time lightning flickered... |
 |
I slept better last night at least I didn’t hear Betty’s sawmill running…I’m still tired out however…I might take a nap after I fix supper…today I’m fixing scalloped potatoes with ham, red onion, celery, and red cabbage…topped with cheddar, feta, and Italian bread crumbs…for a side dish I preparing precooked Brussels sprouts by chopping them and frying them in olive oil with a touch of butter and garlic. I sure hope your day is wondifferous… glad I answered your question to your satifaction |

You would like Travis, pure Cajun and amazingly wise. We research a lot of stuff together and share. I share stuff from here also. There is a time and a season for everything. Nothing is new under the sun.
